Twitter has launched a tool that will allow users to identify campaign political propaganda and find out who paid for it, following a US threat to create regulations regarding lack of disclosure of spending policies on social networks.
The microblogging site launched the "Transparency Center for Advertising" to allow any user to see advertisements downloaded on Twitter, with greater transparency on advertising during federal election campaigns to states -United.
The presentation of the tool comes after Twitter recently launched its advertising policy during election campaigns and following a similar move by Facebook, which initiated a case last month political notice in the United States that can be accessed by users.
The new Twitter center gives users access to details such as political advertiser goals based on demographics, in addition to billing information advertising and other expenses .
"We make it clearer than ever that publishes content during US federal political campaigns on Twitter," the company said in a blog post.
The Transparency Center will include all advertisers on Twitter globally, but at this stage will only show ads for US federal election campaigns that fall under its new regulation.
