The Spanish, Italian and Polish versions of Wikipedia today suspended the service to protest against the possible reform of the European Copyright Directive that the European Parliament is dealing with tomorrow and that will be approved in the future, open open.
This reform has sparked great controversy around Articles 11 and 13, which deal with issues such as the right of media publishers to be paid when fragments are used of its publications and the creation of a filter against aggregation of content that violates the copyright.
In addition, it is also linked to the content that users download. Thus, the sharing of a code, images, texts, sounds and other creations subject to copyright would be complicated, limiting the freedom of expression of those who live and consume the network.
