MF Doom is dead.

Doom, who was born Daniel Dumiel, passed away on October 31. The cause of death has not been revealed.

News of the British-born rapper’s death was shared via his social media accounts on Thursday (December 31). In a statement written by his wife, Jasmine, she expressed how influential rhyme meant to their family and congratulated the man he was before he passed away.

“The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for,” the statement read. “Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me to forgive sentient beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing you how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I can be. My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and still adore you. ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet. “

The MF Doom team also made a statement: “With heavy hearts we share these words from the MF DOOM family. We wish to continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

The death of the masked rapper comes three years after the death of his 14-year-old son, Malachi Ezekiel Dumile. MF Doom shared the tragic news via Facebook in 2017. The cause of death was not shared at the time.
