Mgs Silent Hill Castlevania Remaster Talk
Konami

Following the success of Capcom’s “Resident Evil 2” remake, the obvious question arose when publisher Konami would do the same for its “Silent Hill” franchise.

Finally, it seems that something is happening. VideoGamesChronicle released a report stating that, according to its sources, Konami is moving back to proper game development and is working on remasters, remakes and new installments in its three main franchises – “Metal Gear Solid”, “Castlevania” and “Silent. Hill”.

The report states that a 2004 remake of “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater” is one of the big ones coming in the near future with the China-based Virtuos games developing this project. Virtuos worked on a bunch of ports in their day, ranging from “The Last of Us: Remastered” and “Horizon Zero Dawn” to “Battlefield V” and “Rise of the Tomb Raider”.

Konami has also reportedly planned remasters of the “Metal Gear Solid” games for consoles, remasters that will be released before MGS3, but we do not know which ones. Bluepoint Games, now owned by Sony, released a collection of “Metal Gear Solid 2”, “Metal Gear Solid 3” and “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker” remasters in 2011.

Several “Silent Hill” games are reportedly in development, one from Bloober Team, developer of “The Medium” and “Layers of Fear”. Another would come from a “mysterious Japanese studio”.

“Castlevania” meanwhile is “reinvented” by an internal Konami team with outside help. No further details are available.

The report is a rumor for now, and while it’s true, it’s unclear when any of these games might appear on platforms.
