Fans at Hard Rock Stadium watching Miami take on Appalachian State on Saturday night briefly turned their attention to a cat rescue inside the site.
A video from fans at the stadium showed the cat swinging off the side of a balcony in the corner of one of the end zones. The cat then let go and drops down on fans holding an American flag underneath.

As fans screamed as they watched the cat fall, the animal bounced off the flag and got to safety. A fan picked up the cat and held it over his head. The crowd went wild.
The Hurricanes were chasing their first win of the season after being beaten by Alabama in their opener of the season last week.

With the game predominantly in the first half, Appalachian State led Miami 14-12. Mountaineers quarterback Chase Brice was 8 for 13 with 63 passing yards. Cameroon Peoples led the team with 58 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Jalen Virgil also returned a missed kick for a touchdown.

Donald Chaney Jr. landed a rushed touchdown to put Miami on the board. The team also had a field goal and security under its belt.
