Miami Hurricanes safety Avantae Williams has been put on hold by the team following his arrest Wednesday for domestic violence, a university spokesperson told multiple media outlets.

Williams, 20, faces three counts of aggravated bodily harm to a pregnant person, according to Miami-Dade County records. He is being held on $ 10,000 bail, according to records.

“We know that student football athlete Avantae Williams has been arrested by the Miami-Dade Police Department,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “He was immediately suspended from all team activities.”

Williams did not play for the Hurricanes last season after medical issues were reported during a preseason review. He said on social media in March that he was cleared to play.

Williams joined Miami as a four-star rookie and nation’s best safety in the class of 2020.
