A Miami nurse has been fired for making fun of a newborn baby with birth defects and posting photos of the baby on social media.

“My night was going well so boom.” Sierra Samuel wrote in an Instagram post about a newborn baby with gastroschisis. She continued with the following post on her Instagram Story, poking fun at the birth defect, saying, “Your bowels were meant to be inside and not outside of baby!” She also tagged the hash #gastroschisis, according to CBS Miami.

The birth defect, gastroschisis, causes exposure of the baby’s intestines.
