Miami quarterback D’Eriq King missed Thursday’s 30-28 loss to Virginia with a shoulder injury.

King was injured against Michigan State two weeks ago and sidelined last week against Central Connecticut State. Freshman Tyler Van Dyke, who started in King’s place last week, made his second straight start and completed 15 of 29 passes for 203 yards in a losing effort.

Van Dyke scored 10 of 11 for 270 yards and three touchdowns last week, but it was his first start against a power-5 opponent.
