When Aaron Rodgers first spoke to reporters after showing up to Packers training camp, he made a grievance presentation that included the list of several good players who have left the Packers, which Rodgers said the team should have kept. One of those players was Micah Hyde, who was drafted by the Packers in 2013, played for Green Bay four years, then moved to Buffalo in free agency.
Hyde told Buffalo on Thursday that he considers it an honor “to hear him say something like that, a Hall of Fame player, one of the best quarterbacks ever.”
Hyde also said Rodgers’ frustrations have been boiling for years. When Hyde signed a five-year, $ 30.5 million contract with the Bills in 2017, Rodgers let him know he was upset the Packers hadn’t kept him.
“After I left this place I remember him reaching out to me and letting me know how frustrated he was,” Hyde said of Rodgers. “His press yesterday was a thoughtful conversation he had with the media. I think he was talking a lot of facts. Hearing him say my name was a blessing. If a guy like that thinks highly of me, i know i’m doing something right.
Hyde has done a lot of good in his four seasons at Buffalo, and Rodgers makes no secret that he’s unhappy not to do so at Green Bay.
