Michael Jackson Disguised cheaply to go shopping for jewelry with a young boy in 1989, and it turns out that the child was James Safechuck.
The video surveillance of a Zales at Simi Valley showed Jackson wearing a costume including a fake mustache, false teeth and a wig. Security thought he looked suspicious and actually stopped Jackson, thinking that he was going to rob the store. At the time, several media had covered the story because it was Michael Jackson who had been questioned as a potential thief.
TMZ has confirmed that the boy in the video is Safechuck. Nobody knew it at the time and the child was barely mentioned in any of the reports that Jackson was arrested by security.
According to an article telling the first story of the story, Michael only bought toys and sunglasses that day.
It's interesting because in the HBO documentary"Leaving Neverland" … Safechuck talks about the "engagement ring" that he would have bought for him. We are told that the purchase did not take place during this trip to the store.
