During his introductory press conference, LaMelo Ball was asked if LaVar Ball and Michael Jordan would play against each other in a one-on-one match. The Hornets point guard said everyone knew how the game would go, but since LaVar is his father and Jordan is his boss, he couldn’t pick a winner.
Jordan would destroy LaVar in a one-on-one match. LaMelo knows this, but he can’t admit it publicly since LaVar is his father and has done so much for him over the years.
LaMelo, the younger brother of New Orleans Pelicans star Lonzo Ball, played 12 games in the NBL last season before sustaining a foot injury that forced him to end his campaign earlier. He averaged 17.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game in the NBL.
In the post-Kemba Walker era, Michael Jordan needed to draft an electric player who would draw eyes to the team. The Chicago Bulls legend found this player in LaMelo Ball, who has always put on a show and is a perfect fit for Devonte ‘Graham.

In his first 15 NBA games, LaMelo Ball averaged 11.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists shooting 40.4% from the field, 32.4% from beyond the arc and 69.0% from the free throw line. So far Michael Jordan looks like a smart guy for choosing LaMelo.
On Jan. 9 against the Atlanta Hawks, LaMelo became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double. The youngster is only 19 years old and already has a good idea of the NBA game.
LaVar Ball did a wonderful job raising his sons. He deserves a lot of credit for giving them confidence to make it to the NBA.
Sadly, LaVar Ball’s hot takes always outweigh the positive things he does. He recently complained about the Hornets in an interview with TMZ, putting Michael Jordan and LaMelo Ball in an awkward position.

LaVar Ball says Michael Jordan and the Hornets should start LaMelo Ball instead of taking his son off the bench. The 53-year-old also gave the impression that his son was not happy being a reserve player.
