Michael Nader dead at 76: Dynasty actor dies of cancer

Michael Nader has died at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer, his wife Jodi Lister shared on Wednesday.

The actor was best known for playing Dex Dexter, the husband of Joan Collins ‘wily villain, Alexis Carrington, on the hit’ 80s television series Dynasty.

And Nader was also known for playing the role of Susan Lucci’s husband Dimitri Marick in the soap opera All My Children.

The cause of death was a type of cancer that was not curable, it was claimed.

“With a heavy heart I share the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael,” Nader’s wife said in a statement shared on MichaelFairmanTV.com.

“We have spent 18 wonderful years with the many dogs we have raised and adopted.

Recently, Michael was thrilled to reconnect with his Dynasty cast friends at Emma Samms’ virtual event to help raise money for the long-running COVID research.

“He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever, ”she continued.

The actor was born in Los Angeles and started working as a teenager.

Her first role was in the movie Beach Party in 1963; he played Beach Boy.

After that came similar films such as Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Pajama Party, Beach Blanket Bingo, Ski Party and How To Stuff A Wild Bikini.

He then landed a recurring role as Siddo in the television series Gidget with Sally Field.

Nader played Mitch in an episode of Magnum PI in 1981, then appeared in the television series Bare Essence.

In 1983, he became a household name when he joined the cast of Dynasty. He played the dark haired hunk who caught the attention of the evil Alexis.

He refused to be her toy and wanted a more serious relationship, but she resisted until they finally got married.

Nader – the nephew of actor George Nader – won a huge number of fans for playing Dex. He stayed with the show until it ended in 1989.

He went on to land guest roles on hit shows like Law & Order: SVU and Cold Case.

The star was also known for her drug problems. In the 1980s he got sober, but in 1997 he was charged with impaired driving.

He was arrested for attempting to sell cocaine to an undercover police officer in 2001, The Post reported.

He is survived by his wife and daughter Lindsay Michelle.
