LINCOLN, Neb. – On Saturday in Nebraska, Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh was fired in a way we haven’t seen since 2016.
Early in the second half, when the Huskers scored their first touchdown of the game, immediately after, Harbaugh was on the sidelines, yelling at the referees. It was normal practice in the game, but after his antics cost the Wolverines against Ohio State in 2016, he brought his behavior under control. However, on Saturday Harbaugh would not be silent about what he saw on the pitch.
“It was illegal training from what I saw on the ground,” Harbaugh said. “I was wondering who they were putting on the line of scrimmage when they had five in the backfield and they told me the guy they were putting on the line of scrimmage. They said, ‘Well, he pulled out a pass!’ Anyway, that’s how I saw it. It was either illegal for him not to be on the line of scrimmage or, if that’s what they put, catcher # 3 on the line of scrimmage, he can’t release the pitch on a pass. . At the time, that’s what I was trying to discuss.

Nebraska was not called to this game, but had been called up earlier in the game. However, it wasn’t there, and it allowed the Huskers to step onto the board and suddenly change momentum.
But that wasn’t the only bad act in the game in Harbaugh’s eyes.
At one point, Nebraska was cautioned for a defensive delay in the game, and that was due to the home team mimicking Michigan’s number of snaps, clapping to get the ball rolling as the offense failed. hadn’t actually done. Harbaugh claims it also went unnoticed, as the Huskers got away with it several times before he was called up.
Finally, the referees listened to the Wolverines.
“Yeah Yeah. We say it,” Harbaugh said. “It was called once, but they were really trying to clap, (duplicate) the snap.”
Between the two things, Harbaugh has been in contact and will continue to be in contact with the Big Ten on this matter, noting that when Nebraska – or any team, for that matter – acts on it, they should have an “intention. to deceive ”penalty, something he was flagged for against Rutgers in 2015 when he split tight end Jake Butt.
“Yeah, we told them about it,” Harbaugh said. “There were sort of a couple of things that had already manifested themselves in terms of alignment and putting – managers keep saying they want to put guys, they want to put them in the right place, they don’t. don’t want flags, but we don’t. I don’t want football to turn into that kind of thing where you don’t know who’s on, who’s on the sidelines, who’s the eligible receiver, who isn’t? It should be clear. You can’t have two guys lined up in exactly the same way – you put a guy on it, a guy on the outside. I don’t think that’s where we want football to go. That kind of clap stuff, that should really be an intent to cheat the foul, which is in the rulebook and 15 yards. But hey, all that, I’m just going to enjoy the incredible. It was awesome! “
