Michigan residents warned about health care data breach

LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Hundreds of thousands of Michigan residents likely to be affected by a health care data breach are urged to take extra precautions regarding their personal information.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and Insurance and Financial Services Director Anita Fox on Monday issued a warning about the violation involving Wolverine Solutions Group based in Detroit.

The violation was discovered last year. Information from more than 600,000 Michigan residents may have been affected, including customers from Michigan's Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Alliance Plan, McLaren Health Care, Three Rivers Health and the Community Health System. from Ottawa North.

Wolverine Solutions Group says so letters mailed to all concerned. According to the company, the compromised information could include names, addresses, birth dates, social security numbers, information and insurance contract numbers, phone numbers and medical information.
