Motorists are getting closer to the exit of the fourth turn, with the lower power they need to not run up to the wall at the exit. They then head towards the apron, sparks flying as they scraped the trail that came to the line to complete their turn.
The pilots are trying to make the track very wide a little smaller. It's similar to Daytona's qualifications.
With five cars remaining, Harvick jumps to 2nd place on the board. He tended to be faster in turns one and two. The car stumbled on bumps at the entrance to be three years old and he lost a little time.
Same thing for Almirola, he is faster in turns one and two, but lost time in his third turn, he moved to 2nd place.
Joey Logano clings to take pole at Sunday's NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway!
