One of Michigan’s top college basketball prospects in 2020 has left his team.
Lorne Bowman, a three-star goalie from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in Detroit, retired from Wisconsin as he dealt with a family affair that had already led him to take time off in October.
Wisconsin coach Greg Gard confirmed the news on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.
“We definitely support this decision and have in a way helped along the way continue to find the best path for him and his family as they face their situation at home,” Gard said. “We are still in communication. I spoke to his father just a few days ago.
School officials have not clarified the nature of Bowman’s family problem, but Gard said on Wednesday that “the situation he faces at home with his family has evolved into more than I think he and we all initially thought so, ”The Associated Press reported. .
