Microsoft Launches Windows 10 20H1 Build 18970 with Cloud Recovery Function and Redesigned Tablet Experience

A number of previous versions of Windows 10 Insider from the 20H1 branch have introduced a new "download in the cloud" option in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) under Reset this PC. The known issues are:

  • There was a problem with old versions of the anti-cheat software used with games: after updating to the latest versions of 19H1 Insider Preview, PCs could crash. To minimize the chances of experiencing this problem, please make sure that you are using the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system.
  • Some Realtek SD card readers do not work properly.
  • Microsoft is working on a fix for a problem that causes buttons to shrink, zoom, and close the title bar that do not work for some applications. If you are using an impacted application, Alt + F4 should work as expected to close the application if necessary.
  • The text on the device pages in the "Bluetooth and other devices" and "Printers and scanners" settings does not display correctly.
  • The search does not work for insiders using certain display languages, including Polish. If this affects you, changing your display language to English and then returning to your preferred display language should solve the problem.
