Microsoft seems to have decided to abandon the Windows 10 Packages feature. This much-anticipated feature was aimed at bringing tabs to applications, which made it easier to use multiple instances of the same program. .
In the middle of last year, however, Microsoft removed Insider's Windows 10 version sets, promising that the feature would come back in a future release. But a tweet from Rich Turner, senior program manager, suggests that Bundles is no longer … although that does not mean that the app tabs are completely irrelevant.

Since then, the radio has remained virtually silent on the issue, until Rich Turner appears on Twitter this weekend, answering a question on the tabs of the console. He tweeted:

In the absence of a formal announcement on the future of tabs, it's a bit difficult – as Chris Hoffman of How-To-Geek points out – to determine Microsoft's plans from this simple tweet . But for all those who waited impatiently for sets, this certainly does not seem to be good news.
However, it seems that a tabbed interface for Windows applications may not have been completely abandoned … it just might take a different form.
