Microsoft Office 2021 for Mac without subscription arrives October 5

On October 5, Microsoft will release the non-subscription version of Office 365. To make Office 2021 even more attractive, Microsoft has updated the suite to have features that were previously exclusive to Microsoft 365. In addition to the new features announced previously, you will also get:

• XLOOKUP, dynamic tables and the XMATCH function in Excel
• Advanced color support for Immersive Reader and natural sounding speech with Read Aloud in Word
• The ability to create an animated GIF from a slideshow in PowerPoint
• Performance improvements in all applications

Microsoft also revealed that Microsoft 365 collaboration features are now available in Office 2021, so you can now co-author documents in “real time”. Additionally, Microsoft now includes its Teams video conferencing app, which did not exist in previous versions. the only requirement is that your Mac is running one of the three most recent versions of macOS, but Microsoft notes that OneDrive is required to use collaboration features. Each account gets 5GB of free OneDrive storage, with the option to purchase a 100GB OneDrive plan for $ 2 / month for Office 2021 users. Microsoft 365 subscribers get 1TB of storage per user.
