Following the release of Windows 10 version 20H1 18970 of Windows 10 for Fast Ring Insiders today, Microsoft today offers two new versions of Windows Insiders in the preview version ring. Given that Microsoft is currently using what it calls a "restricted release approach," only a subset of insiders at the launch of the release received its first 19H2 release earlier this week. the rest is still on the update of May 2019 (19H1).

If you're one of the 10% insiders who received the 19H2 version 18363.327 earlier this week, you'll receive the 19H2 version 18363.329 today. The rest of the insiders in the version preview ring will receive the 19H1 version compiled today 18362.329, although both versions include the following two patches.

We solved the following problem: on LTE-enabled devices, some SIM cards from some operators would not work properly.
We fixed several issues that caused bug checks on some devices.

Microsoft will apparently continue to send separate cumulative updates for Release Preview insiders on 19H2 and 19H1, although these updates will include the same patches. Here's what the Windows Insider team had to say about these maintenance changes today:

To clarify these versions, the 19H1 and 19H2 versions share the same maintenance content. This means that they share the same cumulative update package. For the small subset of Windows Insiders (the 10%) Release Preview that had the ability to install 19H2, an activation package is downloaded from Windows Update that activates the features of 19H2. This *change* the build number for the operating system of 19H1 Build 18362 at 19H2 Build 18363. Since they use the same maintenance content, the construction revision number (the number following the point) will always be between 19H1 and 19H2. While we continue to test our maintenance packages in the version preview ring, both 19H1 and 19H2 insiders will receive a single cumulative update with the same patches.

With two different development branches and the introduction of A / B testing in the preview ring, the Windows Insider program has become much more complex this year. We hope you will not need to be a computer scientist to understand how the program will work in the near future, but we hope this will help Microsoft learn more about the new features of the 19H2 and 20H1 updates for Windows 10.
