(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp said it mainly addressed the technical issue that delayed message delivery on its widely used Teams work messaging app earlier on Wednesday.
The problem, caused by a potential network glitch, affected users in the Americas, the company said.
“We are monitoring the service to ensure a full recovery and will take whatever action is necessary if the impact persists,” the software giant added.
Downdetector, a crash tracking website, showed there were over 800 incidents of people reporting issues with Teams.
Downdetector only tracks outages by gathering status reports from a range of sources, including user submitted errors on their platform. The outage may have affected a larger number of users.
Collaboration apps like Teams, Slack, and Zoom have played a vital role in driving remote work and online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The teams had around 115 million users as of October last year.
