Trainees at Microsoft had a great time this summer.

A description of the video on YouTube was written by Liam McGregor, a credited data science intern to lead, produce and help write the musical.
"Microsoft the Musical" was designed and run by trainees who spent the summer of 2019 at Microsoft, "McGregor wrote. "This opening number of Tony Award-style musical theater is just one of the many passion projects that have come about because we have been encouraged to get to work." And that's what we did: 150 people came in the mornings, weekends and nights to create this activity apart from (and in addition to) their day job. "
After opening the door by winking at Gates, cast members are dancing in Redmond, Washington, at the headquarters campus and in the buildings. A whole series of company achievements and product names are ubiquitous – Windows, Office, PowerPoint, Surface, Xbox, HoloLens, Minecraft, Azure … even Clippy is mentioned. "Everything is happening here", is the constant chorus of the chorus. And although it seems obvious that being a trainee at Microsoft offers young people the chance to work on cutting-edge topics, a break in the music raises somewhat thick issues, since two characters are discussing in a cafeteria of the company.
"How come everyone here does so much," a woman asks her colleague at 5:25 pm
"I know, I do not understand, maybe there is something in the water," the man replies.
"Can I have a latte and … a boost of some ingredient that makes people successful here?" The woman said, ordering a drink.
Alas, there is no special ingredient, because everyone brings his own! Back to singing and dancing!
"Microsoft's mission is to enable every person and every organization in the world to achieve more," wrote McGregor in his director's note. "We hope this speaks to all those who dream of being part of something big – and especially to those who have been wrongly told that they can not be. At one point, we were all in your place. You CAN, YOU MUST, and you will do it.
