Microsoft's quarterly revenue surpasses cloud growth estimates

(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp surpassed Wall Street's forecast for its quarterly earnings on Wednesday, fueled by its Azure cloud computing unit and continued transition to the subscription version of its Office software.

Total income rose 14% to $ 30.57 billion in the third quarter ended March 31, exceeding the average estimate of $ 29.84 billion from analysts, according to Refinitiv's IBES data.

Net income reached $ 8.81 billion, or $ 1.15 per share, up from $ 7.42 billion, or 96 cents a share, a year earlier.
