The Microsoft Surface Headphones marked an impressive start for the company in a new product category. Today, you can buy them at a price well below their usual cost. As part of Prime Day, Amazon has reduced the noise reduction headset up to $ 189.99.

Originally, Surface earphones were priced at $ 350, in line with competition from Sony and Bose. We could find them cheaper in recent months, but it's a very interesting price. It was difficult to recommend them for more than $ 300, but a sale that brings them back to less than $ 200 changes the story.

Microsoft headphones are quite stylish and offer very effective noise suppression (with a smart dial to adjust the level of digital control). But they do not support advanced Bluetooth codecs – they even omit the AAC – and offer only a mediocre autonomy.

So yes, compared to something like Sony 1000XM3, the surface headphones could be a failure for some buyers. But their weaknesses are much easier to forgive at the current Prime Day price. Microsoft has also provided numerous firmware updates to the Surface headset to improve the audio quality and reliability of the connection.
