Microwaves: Need more power? Instead, use lasers!

[ad_1]

You know what it is, you’ve come home late from work, you’ve been stuck in traffic for what seems like forever, and you’re hungry. You grab the microwave meal and think, if only I didn’t have to wait for those three and a half minutes, 900 watts just isn’t enough power. What you need is a laser microwave, and luckily, [Styropyro] built one, so you don’t have to. No, really, no.

After observing a microwave operating only on a half wave basis and delivering power 50% of the time, he attempted to convert it to full wave by doubling the high voltage transformer and rectifier diodes. While this was working, the poor ailing magnetron didn’t hit the nail on the head and died a little prematurely.

Not to be discouraged, the obvious thing was to ditch the whole concept of cooking with boring old radio waves and instead use a pile of fucking lasers. Now we don’t know how he manages to get his hands on some of the parts he uses, and the laser array modules seem sketchy to say the least, and to be blunt, we don’t think they should be easy to pull off. get given the ridiculous beam power they can muster.

With construction completed as usual [Styropryo] level of excellent build quality, it continues to produce mouthwatering delicacies such as laser charred poptart, cremated steak with not really caramelized onions and our favorite laser popcorn. OK, he admits the beam has way too much power, really should be infrared, and much more diffuse to be even vaguely practical, but we don’t care about the practicality of these parts. Who wouldn’t want to feel the excitement of going instantly blind just by walking into the kitchen at the wrong time?

We’ve covered quite a few microwave-related hacks already, including a neat microwave and hacks using microwave parts, like a Janky Jacob ladder, but this is probably the first. laser microwave we have come across. I hope for the last 🙂

And remember children, like [Styropyro] says in almost every video on his channel:

All the crazy things you are about to do were done for educational purposes, in fact if you were to try any of these things at home you would probably die …
