Mihoyo is well aware that Genshin Impact is being bombarded with magazines and has other birthday plans in the works.
Mihoyo is well aware of the reaction to Genshin Impact’s anniversary awards and has released a statement to TheGamer revealing what he has planned.
Genshin Impact officially celebrated his birthday this week and announced a handful of ways he was planning to mark the occasion. However, many of its players felt that the anniversary rewards offered were not good enough given the milestone. Virtually all of the avenues available that can be used to make their feelings known have been at this point.
Twitter, Discord, Genshin’s reviews on Google Play, and even game review sections unrelated to Mihoyo and Genshin Impact suffered in what the gaming community saw as a lackluster celebration. If you’ve been busy trying to make sure Mihoyo hears your complaints, you can stop. The studio released a statement to TheGamer confirming that they are well aware of the backlash.
“We have paid particular attention to the various feedback regarding Genshin Impact’s first anniversary,” the statement read. “The opinions and feedback from players and fans are truly precious to us, and we wish all fans continue the adventure and collect more treasured memories in Teyvat.” He also reveals that he has more ways to celebrate Genshin’s first birthday in the works.
“We have already hosted other celebrations, including the upcoming Genshin Impact online concert and thank you gifts to express our gratitude for the players’ support throughout the process.” In-game gigs have been a big deal for Fortnite, but it’s unclear how this will appease Genshin players demanding better birthday rewards. Thank you gifts can help, but that ultimately depends on what they are, of course.
Hopefully the reveal that Mihoyo is listening to and coming up with more birthday ideas will ward off the angry crowd for the time being. Genshin Impact’s two Discord servers are almost unusable at the moment as disgruntled players continue to spam them with emojis. It’s also not great that other mobile games get bad reviews, which makes very little sense.
