Dominion Voting Systems could sue MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell for his persistent claims that the voting machine supplier influenced the November presidential election in favor of President Joe Biden.
“Mike Lindell is asking to be sued, and at some point we just might compel him,” Michael Steel, a spokesperson for Dominion, said Sunday in an appearance on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”
The bedding businessman, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, continued to claim that the election was stolen from the former president and handed to Biden even as right-wing media had largely reversed course.
Fox News, One America News Network (OAN), and Newsmax have backed down from promoting baseless conspiracy theories that Dominion and a rival company, Smartmatic, illegally intervened to funnel votes to Biden, as voting system companies become more and more contentious.
Lindell, meanwhile, made his way by airing a three-hour OAN film on Friday that prompted an array of electoral fraud plots.
“This latest unquote documentary he aired is nothing but the same old repackaged half-baked conspiracy theories – and the truth is catching up with him,” Steel told CNN.

As the two voting machine companies embark on a litany of libel lawsuits against the media and individuals who have propagated conspiracy theories about the election, OAN has gone to great lengths to distance itself from the claims of the movie. He issued a 90 second disclaimer that said “Mr. Lindell is the sole writer and executive producer of this program and is solely responsible for its content.” The disclaimer also stated that OAN did not endorse any of the film’s statements regarding Dominion or Smartmatic.
Newsmax cut Lindell’s microphone in an appearance this week after starting to complain that he had “100% proof” that Dominion was involved in voter fraud. The anchor rejected the bogus requests and left the board.
This week, Smartmatic filed a libel suit against Fox News, with some of his ancestors and members of Trump’s legal team claiming $ 2.7 billion in damages.
Dominion recently filed a libel lawsuit against Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani seeking $ 1.3 billion in damages. The company alleges that Giuliani’s peddling of allegations that Dominion’s voting machines are inaccurate could cause him to lose hundreds of millions of government contracts.
The complex conspiracy theory that implicates Dominion in a widespread electoral fraud scheme alleges, among other things, that the firm’s parent company was founded by offshoots of the Venezuelan government to steal elections.
In fact, Dominion is a Canadian company, and independent audits have found its voting machines to be reliable and accurate.
