His brother, Marc Sorrentino, was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in fraud. He pleaded guilty to a charge of aiding in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return.

Michael Sorrentino became famous in 2009 after being selected in MTV's "Jersey Shore" reality series.

The show featured a group of young men and women living in a home in Seaside, New Jersey, while they were working in a local t-shirt printing company.

Among the allegations against Sorrentino, he allegedly concealed his income and made cash deposits of less than $ 10,000 in bank accounts to conceal these deposits at the IRS.
