The Steelers and Ravens are heading into Thursday night’s game on very different paths.

Pittsburgh is 10-0 and a pair of resounding wins while the Ravens are 6-4 and lose three of their last four games. This leaves them out of the AFC playoffs for the time being and in desperate need of a win over their division rivals.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked on Monday about facing a team in that position and Tomlin’s response was to put his team in the same boat as the Ravens.

“We’re desperate too,” Tomlin said, via the team’s website. “We’re all desperate to win this week. I imagine they see us the same way, or I imagine it would be up to them to do that. This is our attitude every week. We respect everyone and the level of desperation and urgency each has as we enter the stadium ready to face it.

Staying one step ahead of the Chiefs in the race for the AFC seed and dealing a blow to their rivals’ playoff hopes are two reasons the level of urgency remains high for the Steelers. on Thanksgiving night.
