Actor and investor Ashton Kutcher revealed that he bought a ticket to space on one of Virgin Galactic’s upcoming flights, but then resold the ticket to the company at the behest of his wife, Mila Kunis.

“When I got married and had kids, my wife basically encouraged that it wasn’t a smart family decision to go to space when we have young kids, so I’m done. by reselling my ticket to Virgin Galactic “, Kutcher told Cheddar News in an interview on Wednesday. “I was supposed to be on the next flight, but I won’t be on the next flight.”

Virgin Galactic successfully flew co-founder Sir Richard Branson and team members Sirisha Bandla, Beth Moses and Colin Bennett as well as pilots Dave Mackay and Michael Masucci to the edge of space last week in the first company crewed flight.

The company plans to conduct another test flight before starting commercial flights.

Ashton Kutcher's wife, Mila Kunis, convinced him to sell his ticket, which costs between $ 200,000 and $ 250,000.

Kutcher’s announcement comes at a critical time in space tourism, as Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, prepare to launch commercial operations for the public in the coming months.

Blue Origin is preparing to launch Bezos as well as the company’s first paying customer in space on Tuesday.

Blue Origin has yet to open ticket sales to the public or disclose its expected prices. This is planned after the maiden voyage with the company crew.
