On his sobriety

At one point, the interview passed about Cyrus’ sobriety. As fans will recall, Cyrus spoke of living a sober life earlier this year.

“It’s decision making,” Cyrus replied when asked how hard it was to get sober. “When I want to do something, I do it and there’s no question about it. So it wasn’t as hard as it can be for a lot of people.”

However, she noted that “the hardest times have been in this pandemic”.

“I’m always honest,” Cyrus said. “And a lot of people, their sobriety broke out during that time. I was one of them. Luckily I didn’t start using drugs again, but I was drinking during the pandemic.”

Cyrus recalled how she started her own Instagram Live show when the lockdown began, but how it “quickly faded”. As she explained, “Dopamine – getting up every day, seeing the number of viewers go up – she didn’t do it for me anymore.”

However, Cyrus said she “doesn’t really like to call it a relapse”. “I call it, I regressed,” she explained, “because for me it’s really drinking – it hasn’t been my demon. But that doesn’t make me go any further. If anything, it’s just causing me not to reach my full potential, which is unacceptable to me. For example, I will not accept anyone or anything that causes me to not reach my full potential. ”

Cyrus said, “I don’t consider myself to be an alcoholic.” However, she said that not living a sober life has impacted her relationships.

“It really, really affects my relationships,” she says. “I am not the best partner; I am not the best girl; I am not the best sister. I can be a little unsure. So if he’s an alcoholic – if we don’t measure him by the amount of drink but how we act as a human being – then I would say alcohol is a problem for me because I’m not not at my best. “
