Miley Cyrus says she still loves ex-husband Liam Hemsworth ‘very, very, very much’

Miley Cyrus admitted that she still loves her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

During a candid interview with Howard Stern on Wednesday, the singer also revealed that she and the Australian actor never planned to tie the knot after a 10-year relationship.

But she said after bushfires destroyed their home in Malibu in November 2018, it made her reassess things.

“ I don’t know if we really thought we were really going to get married, ” the 28-year-old star said.

“ I just clung to what was left of this house, which was me and him, and I really love him and really love him very, very, very much. ”

Miley and Liam, 30, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in December 2018, before going their separate ways a few months later in August 2019.

“ Liam and Miley have agreed to go their separate ways for now, ” a representative for the Wrecking Ball singer told PEOPLE at the time.

“Constantly evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they decided this was the best part while both focusing on themselves and their careers.

Miley also opened up about her relationship with actor Isn’t It Romantic on the Call Her Daddy podcast in August.

She said when they finally decided to go their separate ways for good it was ‘like death’.

“ I had a really big, very public breakup that lasted over 10 years of a relationship … It’s like death when you lose such a deep love. It looks like death, ”she admitted.

She added: “ Honestly sometimes [death] even feels easier because [with a breakup] the person is still walking the earth.

Since their split, Liam has been in a relationship with Australian model Gabriella Brooks, who he started dating in December of last year.

Meanwhile, Miley had a whirlwind relationship with Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter, but they broke up in September 2019, after just a month.

Miley then started dating Australian singer Cody Simpson in October 2019, before going their separate ways in August this year.
