Milwaukee County Completes Recount; Biden increases his lead

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) – Milwaukee County completed its presidential election recount and certified the results on Friday night.

The final total tally was 459,723 votes. President-elect Joe Biden raked in 317,527 versus 134,482 for President Donald Trump. The rest went to third parties and registrations.

Biden increased his margin of victory over Trump in the county by 149 votes. Biden won Wisconsin by about 20,600 in the first count.

The Milwaukee County Council of Solicitors approved the final count around 5:30 p.m.

The new tally was 577 votes lower than the previous total, but Biden and Trump got more votes.

Dane County, the only other county to recount its ballots, plans to wrap up work on Sunday. On Friday afternoon, Dane County Clerk Scott McDonell said he got 80% of the vote.

The state of Wisconsin certifies its result Tuesday.
