In 2006, Ozzie Guillen compared the formation of the Twins to that of Piranhas because of his ability to relentlessly kill a team to death. This 2019 twin line is more like a shark frenzy with rows of sharp teeth and incredibly powerful jaws. This training smelled blood in the water and devoured Seattle pitchers tonight.

I do not have any more superlatives, so let's cut the fluff and go to the numbers. The Twins have won their fifth straight game and are 30-15. They scored more than 18 points. They hit six other circuits at home. No baseball team has scored more points or touched more circuits than the Twins.
That's the reality, right? I do not dream, is not it? Someone pinched me.
At this point, there really is no need to be cute to try to analyze the Twins season so far. Just look at the rankings. Just look at the rankings.
Honestly, I do not even know what to say at this point. This team is crazy. They are crushing Seattle so far in the dust for this series, outperforming them 36-11 in three games. They did all this without Nelson Cruz or Mitch Garver.
C.J. Cron and Jonathan Schoop each hit two homers, Byron Buxton hit a grand slam and Miguel Sano scored his first circuit of the season. Sharks combined for 19 hits, including 10 for additional bases. They also scored 6 goals out of 13 with the riders in the scoring position and shot six goals.
Despite a 15-0 lead, Jose Berrios made a good start tonight. Berrios was pulled out of the game after allowing four points in the fifth inning. He did only 4 2/3 innings, and it took 105 shots to go that far. But Berrios still shot a lot of shots, did not play the stick and only gave one more shot.
Of the 16 balls in play, the Mariners hit Berrios, eight were hit. I would not expect a .500 BABIP to be sustainable. It was a weird start. Jose also had an almost exact split between his four fields. He launched 28 seams, 27 curved balls, 26 four seams and 24 changes, by Baseball Scholar. This is the most changing part of his career this year.
Luis Arraez made his Major League debut. He took over at the shortstop, went to second where he made a good dive stop and managed a 1-2 with a 1-2. Here is a link to a spotlight that I made yesterday on the site, which includes videos.
Austin Adams made his debut at the Twins and his first MLB participation since 2016. He dominated at 97.5 mph and his slider reached 89.5 mph. If you're wondering why Derek Falvey likes this guy, well, that's it. Adams took a hit and eliminated four batters in two scoreless innings.
