Nvidia revealed Minecraft

A new trailer released on Monday presents the before-and-after effects of Nvidia's ray tracing capabilities, as well as the Minecraft development team's reflections on the update. Watch the trailer above to see all kinds of places get RTX treatment on Windows 10, including vibrant homes, glistening lakes, dark tunnels filled with sparkling lava and huge caves with light filtering cracks above. The ray tracing will include improved lighting, reflections and shadows around the world, giving more depth and quality to classic blocks that retain the same assets, but with more aesthetic textures all around. Nvidia also said that everything would be modifiable for the benefit of the players, which is good news after the announcement of the Super Duper Graphics Pack has been canceled.

The development team has done a lot of work this year, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Minecraft and the recently revealed Minecraft Earth.

The Nvidia RTX update does not have an exact release date yet, but when it lands, you can expect a free update for anyone using Nvidia cards in the 2060, 2070, or 2080 series. (including Super and Ti variants).
