A missing pantry was found alive Saturday after drifting away, two miles from his boat, the coastguard said.
While exploring an undersea sinking off the coast of Asbury Park, the unidentified woman found herself about two miles southwest of the Gypsy Blood commercial boat, from which she had dived with a group, said the Coast Guard.
The captain of the boat sent a distress call late Saturday morning when the diver did not return with the rest of the divers. She was found that afternoon, floating in the water with an orange inflatable surface marker buoy near Shark River Inlet.
The diver was not injured.
The Independence ship and a boat crew at Shark River Inlet Station assisted the Coast Guard in its rescue efforts.
