MIT ate and dined Jeffrey Epstein as he solicited millions of dollars in donations from the convicted pedophile – and had once offered him a giant ball as a gift, according to a new report.
Professor Neri Oxman, invited to Epstein Court, thanked the evil predator who gave $ 125,000 to Oxman's design lab for his grapefruit-sized 3D marble with a lighted base.
The ball came with a pair of gloves to prevent fingerprints from staining, the newspaper reported.
Oxman, a designer whose work has been featured in Vogue magazine and the Smithsonian Institution, is married to billionaire hedge fund William Ackman. Last year, she was in the headlines when Brad Pitt had a crush on the famous teacher.
Joichi Ito, former director of the MIT's Media Lab, dishonored, asked him, along with other professors, to solicit Epstein's donations and write the thank-you notes of the convicted pedophile. She was also invited to dine with him several times, requests that she refused.
But in 2017, after the lab received $ 125,000, Ito asked Oxman to send a pledge of appreciation to her Manhattan townhouse, and she offered him solid marble.
Oxman also vowed to keep quiet about Epstein's money, a bomb-affirmation revealed on Sept. 6 by a New Yorker report detailing MIT's efforts to conceal donations, the paper said.
Ito has since resigned.
Oxman, 43, has recognized his role in the relationship between MIT and Epstein in a statement to the Globe.
"I regret receiving funding from Epstein and I apologize deeply to my students for inadvertently taking part in this mess," Oxman said in a statement.
