The wait is over. As the Toronto Maple Leafs begin their training camp ahead of the 2019-2020 season, negotiations with restricted agent Mitch Marner have finally resulted in a new contract: six years, with an average annual value $ 10.893 million.
That gives the Leafs three strikers with eight-digit AAVs (Marner joins Auston Matthews and John Tavares) but ends the drama much earlier than William Nylander, the last RFA with which the Leafs had sometimes acrimonious negotiations.
Who comes forward? Glad you asked. Here is our note for the new Marner Pact:
The player: Mitch Marner, RW
Terms: Six years, 10.893 million US dollars
Does the agreement make sense?
None of this makes sense, and yet it's finally very logical. How is this an answer?
