Mitch McConnell announces the re-election of the 2020 Senate Campaign

SMajority Major Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Announced Wednesday afternoon his re-election campaign for 2020.

The nearly three-minute video posted on the McConnell campaign's Facebook page highlights some of McConnell's most memorable moments as a majority leader in the Senate.

This includes the blocking of Merrick Garland's candidacy for the Supreme Court in 2016, the Republican confirmation of Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and the passing of the law on the reduction of taxes and the job creation.

"Mitch McConnell led the fight for our Conservative values ​​in the Senate.Confirming the appointment of two Supreme Court justices, lowering government regulation and passing historic tax cuts for the middle class, Mitch has kept the promise of Trump president to make America even better, "McConnell's campaign website said.

"Left-wing billionaires, progressive activists and Hollywood liberals will fund our opponent, and they will reap millions of dollars to flood the airwaves with offensive ads and baseless smears," the site said.

No Democrat has officially announced his candidacy for the McConnell seat.

McConnell has enjoyed broad support from his caucus in the Senate. He easily retained his role as Senate Majority Leader before 116th Congress after having had the toughest re-election battle of his political career in 2014, when Kentucky State Secretary Alison Lundergan Grimes had collected nearly 41% of the vote. Although McConnell won with a comfortable margin, the race forced him to spend millions of TV commercials and other campaign resources.
