ORLANDO, Florida. – The family of a student killed on Wednesday posted a video showing a deputy in the Orange County Sheriff’s Office allowing his killer to leave.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina said that when the video was recorded, Armando Caballero had already given up Miya Marcano’s body to Tymber Skan on Condominium Lake and was wearing blue jeans and support- throat.
Authorities found Caballero, a 27-year-old Arden Villas maintenance worker, who died by suicide on September 27 in Seminole County, and Marcano, a 19-year-old Arden Villas resident and student at Valencia College, deceased October 2 in Orange. County.
“There is no indication that there was any sexual assault of any kind,” Mina said, adding that Caballero used black duct tape to cover Marcano’s mouth and tie up his hands and feet.
Attorney Daryl K. Washington, who represents Marcano’s family, released a statement with the video on Wednesday saying a deputy dismissed the evidence and said his disappearance “was not a high priority case.”

“The person responsible for his death was Armando Caballero,” Mina said in response to the family’s accusation that MPs were not doing enough.
Mina said the deputy in the video did not have enough evidence at the time to consider Caballero a suspect. He also said detectives were still looking for two cell phones and a set of keys as the investigation was still ongoing.
The 3-minute video of the family shows that Marcano’s relatives called Caballero “obsessive” on September 25, hours after missing a scheduled return flight on September 24.
Marcano’s aunt found it suspicious that Caballero asked her if they were looking for her. Mina said Caballero had some sort of “romantic interest” and Marcano had rejected him.
“You were obsessively texting Miya,” a relative said in the video. “We have all seen the texts. You mentioned giving him your savings.
Marcano’s relative told Caballero he had an “obsession” with her and said it was strange that he was at Arden Villas during non-working hours.

“It’s not just on my side, so don’t try to act like I’m a stalker… If I’m guilty, why would I come here,” Caballero said during the confrontation.
According to Washington, an Arden Villas security guard attempted to remove the fingerprints from Marcano’s window, and relatives found a cutter in his apartment that did not belong to him, but the deputy did not judge any of them. these important elements.
Video shows that after the confrontation, a deputy spoke to Caballero and allowed him to get back into his car and leave – even though they said deputy Caballero had a blanket that belonged to Marcano in his car.
Washington also said the Arden Villas complex was negligent in Marcano’s security, prompting tenants to protest on Wednesday night.
“Safety is a big issue,” said student Deandra Smith. “I’ve had a bunch of maintenance times that walked in without knocking on doors.”
Renters say they want more security and lights added to the property.
