MLB creates another cursed pro-Dodgers chart

Following the Los Angeles Dodgers’ victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Game on Wednesday night, the Major League Baseball social media team created an image in which baseball fans collectively asked. : “Why?”

The graphic shows the underside of a Dodgers player (Mookie Betts judging by the cleats and socks?) in the foreground while players from the other remaining teams watch in the background. The tweet was accompanied by the caption “One step closer to repetition,” a line that has been interpreted by some as a continuation of alleged Dodgers favoritism.

“There isn’t enough commentary on how weird this all is,” one Twitter user said. commented on the picture.

“Why are we under him,” demand another user, speaking for all of us.

Other fans and members of the media have noticed the very weird expressions of the players in the background as well as the shoddy layering work.

A fan even noticed that given the awning and lights, the graphic appears to be taking place at Wrigley Field, which is certainly a pick given the Chicago Cubs haven’t even sniffed out the playoffs this year.


The MLB Twitter account was previously pilloried for a tweet in early September celebrating that “For the first time since April 25, the Dodgers own the NL West”, accompanied by a graphic reading “1st place in NL West”.

When the San Francisco Giants took back the lead in the division four days later, the San Francisco social media team made a graphic of their own subtly poking fun at the MLB.
