MLB Playoff Highlights – Astros, Red Sox, Brewers, Giants Win on Busy Day

For anyone looking to catch up on everything that happened in the MLB playoffs yesterday, with four LDS games underway, here is your summary of the Highlight Packages.

The Astros started the day by beating the White Sox late in the game after a very close game. Tony La Russa’s reliever pen decisions are going to be criticized, especially with Craig Kimbrel continuing to wrestle away from a closer location:

It’s a 2-0 lead for the Astros now, as the series takes place in Chicago for at least one game on Sunday night.

The Rays and Red Sox had an explosive second game in their ALDS, with the Red Sox taking an early lead… which Chris Sale immediately gave up. But the Red Sox started pouring it out after that and eventually won in a blowout:

The series is now tied 1-1, and the Red Sox will host Game 3 on Sunday afternoon.

The Brewers got a dominant exit from Corbin Burnes to start their NLDS against the Braves, and a home run from Rowdy Tellez was all they needed. All the Brave got was a solo circuit of a Joc Pederson wearing a pearl necklace (that’s literally what he does, if you haven’t seen it yet):

The second game takes place today at 4 p.m. CT in Milwaukee, with Brandon Woodruff facing Max Fried.

And finally, the Giants shut out the Dodgers 4-0 thanks to a great night from Logan Webb and a huge offensive night from… yeah, Kris Bryant:

Game 2 takes place tonight at 6 p.m. CT in San Francisco, with Julio Urias facing Kevin Gausman.
