Cardinals win sixth consecutive win over Brewers
For the first few rounds, the Cardinals game against the Brewers on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium looked like another tight game. St. Louis flirted with a Monday without a combined batter, and a similar tension was created on Tuesday.
All this tension disappeared in the sixth and seventh innings when the Cardinals opened the game against the Milwaukee marker. Dexter Fowler scored a three-point double in the left field, in the sixth inning, and the Cardinals were absent.
I'm not quite sure what Ryan Braun was doing there, but this ball needs to be captured, ideally by the field player who is running on it and has easier play. The Cardinals scored four in the sixth and four in the seventh, and that was all.
St. Louis has won its last six games against the Brewers and their players play half a game less than the Cubs in NL Central. The Brewers now have four games back in the division and 3 1/2 of second place. Milwaukee has lost three consecutive games and six of its last eight games.
Mets Open Key Homestand with a win
No baseball team has more home games than the Mets. Including Tuesday night, 26 of their last 38 games will be played at Citi Field. On Tuesday, the Mets opened a nine-game family circuit that will bring the Indians, Braves and Cubs to New York. Nine games against playoff contenders.
The Mets started this key activity with a win on Tuesday night. Indian left-field player Oscar Mercado threw a regular flying ball in the sixth inning, setting Michael Conforto to the home fix against Shane Bieber. New York then opened the game against the Cleveland marker.
At 25-10, the Mets have the best baseball record since the All Star break and are not only beating the bad teams. Tuesday's victory helped them keep pace with the Cubs and stay two games away from second place in the wild card. Next week's series against the Cubs seems very important. These two clubs are almost neck and neck in the race for the joker.
As for the Indians, they have suddenly lost five of their last seven games. They are three games behind the Twins in Central AL.
Acuna again planted by Marlins
There could be fireworks between the Braves and the Marlins this week. The two rivals from the east of the NL play their last series of the season and, on Tuesday night, the first pitch of Elieser Hernandez was planted in the ribs of Ronald Acuna. Both teams were notified and Braves manager Brian Snitker was ejected.
As you may remember, right-hand Marlins rider Jose Urena was training Acuna with his first pitch in a game last year, while Acuna was in the middle of a blistering comeback. Urena has been suspended six games for obvious intention. The Braves had to wait until this season to take revenge on him.
After weaning from Acuna, the Braves beat the Marlins in last place and Acuna scored twice. I understand that you can not let another team play the target with your young franchise player, but Atlanta has nothing to gain and everything to lose in an extended bean ball war with the Marlins. We will see what happens the rest of the series.
Trout binds Bellinger for the title of MLB's home
From the start of Tuesday's action, Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers dominated the entire MLB with 42 runs, and Mike Trout of the Angels was close on his track with 41. At Arlington, Trout quickly tied the score:
That's 42, and in addition to leveling Bellinger, it's also a new career high for Trout. On top of that, the home run gives Trout 2,500 total bases for his career. On the season, Trout now beats .299 / .444 / .667 with 99 goals scored and 10 stolen goals, in addition to a central field defense. As our own Matt Snyder has argued, Trout is the obvious MVP AL and the best baseball player.

And yes, the hot Tuesday game between two teams that have lost records and children returning to school adds to a derisory presence. For the lucky few who are on site, however, you'll have some Mike Trout to go with the calm zen of an almost empty ball stadium. It's good to live.
A rally of pirates following the Archer injury
Things have not gone well for hackers lately. Not at all. They entered Tuesday's game 7-28 since the all-star break and then, in the second run against the Nationals, Chris Archer left the mound with the coach. The Pirates, who already lack launcher, then announced that he had a problem in the shoulder.
Rather than fading, the press office intensified after the release of Archer. Clay Holmes (3 2/3 innings), Michael Feliz (1 1/3 innings) and Richard Rodriguez (1 2/3 innings) forced the Nationals to a 6 2/3 innings race. That allowed the Pirates to stay in the game, and then, in the eighth inning, Starling Marte scored a decisive three-run homer against former pirate Daniel Hudson.

The highlight of the day: the goal of the game Hechavarria
The Braves beat the Marlins with relative ease on Tuesday night, though that does not make Adeiny Hechavarria's end game less impressive. He removed a strike at the base of Neil Walker with this stabbing:
Very pleasant. Say what you want from the transition period, but this makes for exceptional defensive games.
Stat of the Day: The multiplayer game series reaches 37 days
For the 37th consecutive day, a league player has hit (at least) two homers in a game. Players: Freddie Freeman, Anthony Rizzo and Bo Bichette. They all launched two circuits on Tuesday.
Last year, the longest sequence of two homers lasted only 20 days. I do not know where the series of 37 days of history (this year) is, but I think it's one of the longest, if not the the longest ever. The year of a home run continues relentlessly.
