Vlad Jr. fires Yankees late

This is not an easy terrain to breed. A Britton turbosinker 95 mph at the knees? Nelson struggles to find Brewers
For the first time since September 8, 2017, Brewers right-hander, Jimmy Nelson, played against the slab during a MLB game Wednesday night. Dirty has become the first thrower in the history of the Red Sox to launch a pristine run on May 8 this season, when he did it against the Orioles. The list of launchers with multiple careers Immaculate Innings is terribly impressive:

Each of these launchers is in the Hall of Fame except Sale and Scherzer, who are obviously still active. Sale is the second pitcher with two flawless innings in one season. Lefty Grove did it on August 23 and September 28, 1928. Josh Hader and Thomas Pannone also launched a flawless run this year.
Cano comes back and is immediately hurt again
The first season of Robinson Cano with the Mets is not going well. He hits only .241 / .287 / .371 with three homers and has attracted fans' hearts by jogging in the balls on the ground – to be clear, the lack of Cano production is a much bigger problem than ever before. A lack of haste – plus he spent two weeks on the set with a quad injury.
Cano came back from the injured list on Wednesday night and immediately put the Mets on the board with RBI's first run. Hurray! Everything will be great now! Well no. A few sleeves later, Cano worsened the quad's injury. He visibly went up the line following a ball on the ground. To witness it:
The Mets have officially announced that Cano had left the game with "a tightening of the left quad", and it is safe to assume that he will submit to tests to determine the severity of the injury. On the positive side, Jason Vargas launched five white games on Wednesday night. Yes, Jason Vargas. He is the second pitcher of the Mets to launch a shutout this year. Noah Syndergaard had a fight against the Reds on May 2. Vargas made 117 shots.
Vargas began his season with a 5.92 tie in his first seven games (six starts) and 24.1 innings. He suffered a hamstring injury on the injured list and on three occasions he allowed two runs in 21 innings. His 3.57 EAR is the second lowest of the Jacob deGrom rotation (ERA of 3.49). How about that?
Turner goes away for Nats
The Nationals have been one of the most disappointing baseball teams to date. This is not a secret. The bullpen was a huge problem, entering the day with an ERA of 6.66 and 11 blown backups. It was again Wednesday, when Kyle Barraclough scored a two-run run before Wander Suero dropped out. Just like that, the White Sox had drawn with an eighth inning.
All's well That ends well? The Nats would eventually win the Trea Turner walk-in match:
Do not look now, but the Nationals seem to be making a move. This victory marks their fourth consecutive and they have won nine of their last 11 games. As the day drew to a close, the Nats were playing 6 and a half games in the East of NL and six of the second wild cards in the NL. None of these margins are small, but they are quite achievable here on June 5th only.
Haseley's first shot wins for Phillies
The Phillies are absolutely decimated by injuries right now. They have six – six! – records on the list of injured, as well as a starter (Zach Eflin) and two out-of-fields (Andrew McCutchen and Roman Quinn). McCutchen tore his ACL earlier this week and is made for the season. Bummer. He is one of the good guys.
