That's it, a gang. There is only one week left in the MLB 2019 regular season before closing. I would say something like "it seems like just yesterday," but being honest now as an exaggerated veteran would not be true. It's a grind. We have a grind unlike any other sport. Even as fans, it can be just exhausting to live and die from the result of a team every day.
How are we going to remember the 2019 season? The playoffs will start with the champion. Past that, however, I have a few things.
- The collapse of the Cubs, which can potentially lead to major changes for the best group of players and franchise leaders.
- The shopping at home.
- Pete Alonso picking up Vlad Jr. after Vladdito's historic performance in the Home Run Derby.
- The shopping at home.
- The Yankees have somehow won more than 100 games after being the most contested season in the history of the MLB.
- The shopping at home.
- The Hangover of the World Series of Red Sox.
- The July race of the Giants, which prevented them from having a chance to win Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith.
- The Astros joined Zack Greinke after thinking the trade deadline was relatively boring.
- The remaining races we have this week.

The power stations?
It is difficult to see the AL center go to the Indians. There are four games back and the magic number of the Twins is three. As long as it is not decided, it is possible.
On the Newfoundland side, the Cubs had a real chance before the aforementioned crisis. Now they do not do it. It is now the Brewers who are three of the Cardinals, sitting with a magic number of four. It's hard to see.
Wildcard NL
The Brewers and the Nationals are tied for first place – and considering the Brewers' home / road divide (see Nats commentary), that matters. The Cubs are four back and look dead, but maybe playing the unfortunate pirates changes that. The Nationals have a really tough week, with a five-game series against the Phillies and three players against the Indians. The Mets linger and watch the Phillies because of these tete-a-tetes.
Wild Card AL
Now we cook.
The Rays and Indians are tied for second place and are only two in the back of the A. With only a week to play, we have three teams for two places. It's glorious.
Time remaining:
· Athletics: Two among the angels; four among sailors
· Rays: A Red Sox vs; two vs. Yankees; three at the Blue Jays
· Indians: Three at White Sox; three to the nationals
Seems relatively even on the last two, perhaps. The road from A to N is not difficult, but all six leave home. It's close enough to get down to the wire.
That's what we have left. Hope this goes until the last day. Last year was pretty fun.
