Sony studio in San Diego has promised that February will bring new information about MLB The Show 21, but it seems that another leak has beaten them. Assuming this tease turns out to be true, it also confirms some very important information related to the series this year.

Posted on Instagram by user Anerdydad, the cover of MLB The Show 21 seems to have been revealed. While this isn’t normally a major deal on its own, what makes it stand out is that one of the box art pieces that have been dropped confirms that the game will be arriving on Xbox platforms in 2021. It was something we expected. to arrive this year, but San Diego Studio had yet to confirm that for themselves.

As for the cover itself, MLB The Show 21 stars Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres. Tatis Jr. is one of the young stars of Major League Baseball and has had a strong season in 2020. To see him appear on the art for MLB The Show 21 this year is not at all a shock given his rapid rise to stardom over the past year.

What remains to be seen over this year MLB the show the title in the future is whether it will also be released on other platforms. Previously it was said that the Nintendo Switch and PC versions of the game would come in the future with a release for Xbox. Since this Xbox version now seems to be finally happening, it’s safe to assume that other platforms will launch alongside it as well.

At the moment we still have a lot to learn MLB The Show 21 but we should start hearing more very soon. With February kicking off next week, there’s a decent show that San Diego Studio could start talking more about this year’s title in a few days.

So what do you think of this development? Would you potentially pick up MLB The Show 21 whether it is finally about non-PlayStation platforms this year? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter at @ Mooreman12.
