A British mother claims that her newborn was wounded with a scalpel in her face during a caesarean section, leaving her scarred for life.

Amber Woollard, 23, says baby Valenci needed plastic surgery for a 2-inch cut under his child's nose. The surgeon told him that this could not happen naturally, according to The Mirror.

According to the newspaper, Baby Valenci should need at least three other surgeries and could have permanent scars.

"I see this as a serious case of negligence on the part of the NHS," said the young mother, referring to the British health service.

"My darling daughter has been left with scars for the rest of her life because of that," added Wollard. "The incident broke my trust in the NHS, I do not trust them anymore. Seeing your newborn with facial wounds is really upsetting. "

However, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital stated that it was "very unlikely" that the baby was cut with a scalpel.

"We would like to reiterate our apologies to Ms. Woollard for failing to meet her expectations and the distress caused by the birth of her daughter," said the hospital, according to The Mirror. "We are sorry that her daughter was born with signs of facial trauma and we explained to Ms. Woollard why we think it was very unlikely that the marks on her face were caused by the scalpel used during the caesarean section. .
