Dixon, Ill (WIFR / Gray News) – A Dixon mother is in police custody after the police announced that she had her two children ride on top of her car to hold an inflatable pool.

Officers received a complaint from a worried citizen that a car was driving with children inside a swimming pool located on the roof of the vehicle just after 3 pm. Tuesday. It was at this point that Dixon police began searching the area and saw a white Audi traveling west on Illinois Route 2.
Police said they had parked the car and learned that 49-year-old Jennifer Janus Yeager had gone to town to inflate the pool at a friend's house and then asked her two daughters to go to the empty pool to hold it.
Yeager is charged with two counts of endangering the health or life of a child, two counts of reckless driving and failing security of a passenger aged 8 to under 16 years of age. .
Yeager was released from the Dixon Police Department after posting a bond.
