The National Meteorological Service has issued a alert on the quality of the air for the counties of Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Portage and Summit.

It was published until midnight on Monday.

The notice is due to tropospheric ozone.

Ground-level ozone is a colorless gas that forms just above the surface of the Earth when pollutants react to sunlight and stagnant air.

This means that air quality levels will be unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, the elderly and people with respiratory difficulties.

The NWS advises you to limit your time on the outside, waiting to mow the lawn and fill your tank after sunset.
