Monica Lewinsky reacts to the comparison of the Mueller report

Lewinsky took Twitter react to Barr's four-page letter that summarized Mueller's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election. His response was given to a tweet from the law professor's University of Southern California, Orin Kerr, who compared Barr's summary of Mueller's report to Ken Starr's report on Clinton's conduct.

"Imagine if the Starr report was provided solely to President Clinton's Attorney General, Janet Reno, who then read it privately and published a 4-page letter based on her private reading in which she concluded that the President Clinton had not committed any crime, "writes Kerr on Twitter.

Lewinsky, whose relations with Clinton were scrupulously examined by Starr's investigation, responded to this with a tweet: "Yes. *** *** Only."

Barr's four-page letter indicated that Mueller had not established that the Trump campaign or his associates were conspiring with Russia, but Mueller did not exonerate Trump of the obstruction of justice issue. Barr quoted Mueller, citing Mueller, that it had been determined that the evidence "was not sufficient" to justify prosecution of the president for obstructing justice.

Ken Starr published his report directly to the House of Representatives on September 11, 1998. A few hours after receiving the report, the House voted in favor of its publication online. One year after the publication of the report, the law on ethics in government, which required special advisers to submit their reports directly to Congress, has expired. The law has been superseded by the regulations of the Department of Justice that currently govern the Mueller report.

Lewinsky has become a strong advocate of bullying over the years. She spoke of the harmful effects of bullying in a Vanity Fair article in 2014 and then wrote articles on the subject.
